National Adult Literacy Agency partner with Biznet

Tuesday 19 June 2007    Business and Government

The National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) is an independent membership organisation, concerned with developing policy, advocacy, research and offering advisory services in adult literacy work in Ireland. NALA was established in 1980 and has campaigned since then for the recognition of, and response to, the adult literacy issue in Ireland.

The new onilne presence will ensure that people with literacy and numeracy difficulties have access to suitable learning opportunities that meet their online needs.

This online project incorporates the following:

1. Re-structuring the existing NALA website (www.nala.ie) with a special emphasis on making it easier for website users to navigate.

2. Bring together all the NALA websites into one consolidated 'literacy portal'.

3. Redesign the aesthetics of the organisation's whole web presence.

4. Develop an integrated staff intranet.

5. Synchronise all existing NALA databases.

Driven by Biznet's Concentric Enterprise Content Management system the sites will boast a wealth of up to date information and facilitate an effective online learning environment.

The system is part of an overall Marketing strategy to promote the activities and services provided by the National Adult Literacy Agency.
